Micciche Discusses Proposed District Shift

The new plan from Alaska Redistricting Board has been challenged, however, if approved the Senate district currently served by State Senator Peter Micciche of Soldotna will be changed, and also send Micciche’s name to the 2014 ballot. The board has proposed to move District O to serve the Northern and Eastern portions of the peninsula, while still serving Central Peninsula Voters.

We asked the Soldotna Republican about the change…

Sen. Micciche(R-Soldotna): “Well, I’ve enjoyed representing Seldovia and Homer and up the Sterling Highway into Soldotna, of course Kenai. I’d be sorry to see those constituents go, but I’d still work to support the entire peninsula.”
