Members of Assembly Upset At Carey

9/2/2010

At least two members of the Borough Assembly were not pleased with Borough Mayor Dave Carey’s letter written to CPGH, Inc. Board President Tom Boedeker.  It stated that the hospital board is not authorized to spend any more money to negotiate with LHP until allowed to do so by the Borough Assembly.  Assembly President Pete Sprague of Soldotna was critical about the timing of the letter.

Borough Assemblymember Charlie Pierce agreed with Sprague about the letter.

Carey, in his letter, showed concern about the hospital board pursuing a change in governance and ownership without engaging the Borough much sooner than it did.

This complete issue needs to be opened up. Some very suspicous issues here.

CPGH is the recipent of a Federal grant for the next 4 1/2 years that provides a very big cash infusion. Once it’s gone, we will really have to tighten the purse strings big time to surrvive.
    But it is do-able.
Now CEO Smith wants us to complete a process of selling the hospital to a corporate group that will have control of the “Federal Grant” we recieve. Simplky this is called corporate raiding and it has been the downfall of many businesses.
When they control the cash and CPGH is hanging on the edge, guess what will happen next.
Dollars to Doughnuts that CEO Smith and his two henchmen are negotiating a very good deal for themselves. You can bet thier future isn’t here.
This is very simple scam and if you look back, you can see all the elements of it. If the boys upstairs want to leave, lets buy them a plane ticket out of here….but leave our Grant Money alone.
This Hospital sells and in four years or so, Smith and the Boys will be long gone with thier sweet little package and we will be sifting through the financial ashes of trying to put a hospital back together.

FOR THE RECORD: I am not a CPGH employee, never have been and never will. I don’t relay on CPGH for a paycheck, never have and never will. I don’t know any of these Corporate raiders and have never me t them. I just can’t stand the stench of what they are trying to pull here.

Ms. Murphy revealed last week to the KP Democrats (a meeting at which I was in attendance) that Pete Sprague asked her to run for his assembly seat. Also, she and the other two candidates for KPB Assembly are currently all three sitting members of the Kenai Peninsula Borough Planning Commission. WHAT IS REALLY GOING ON HERE? SOME MORE ANSWERS PLEASE!
