Local Public Testimony Taken Today on Parnell’s Oil Bill

The State Senate Committee on TAPs throughput decline began taking public testimony on Governor Sean Parnell’s oil tax proposal on Tuesday.  Senator Peter Micciche, co-chair of the TAPs throughput committee said that today, the committee will be taking testimony from those in the local area.

Sen. Micciche(R-Soldotna): ” Public testimony will be taken from 4:30pm to 7:30pm, so you should go to the Homer or Kenai LIO’s[Legislative Information Offices], I really encourage folks to get involved in public testimony on this bill. Although that’s not an oil tax committee, we are going to be looking at the operational issues that limit increasing production in the pipeline system. Obviously, key to stabilizing our  revenue stream into the state, pays about 92% of everything we do.”
