Local attorney Pete Mysing was killed on Sunday night, as a result, of a two-vehicle accident in Kenai. State troopers say Kenai Police received a report of a crash that occurred in Old Town Kenai at the intersection of Overland Street and Mission Avenue just after 10 p.m. The Kenai Police Department also requested the assistance of the Bureau of Highway Patrol.
The investigation revealed two vehicles collided in a T-Bone style collision at the intersection of Overland Street and Mission Avenue. 20-year-old Elias Cobb of Kenai was driving a 2004 Ford Mustang with 59-year-old Peter Mysing, of Kenai, as a front seat passenger and 20-year-old Ryan Hobbs of Kenai, as a rear seat passenger. 46-year-old Thomas Byers of Anchorage was driving a 2001 Ford F-350 truck with 36-year-old Jason Ross of Kenai as a front seat passenger and a 15 year old male of Kenai as a rear seat passenger. Mysing was pronounced deceased on the scene. All other occupants were transported to Central Peninsula Hospital in Soldotna for non-life threatening injuries. Seatbelts were reportedly worn by all occupants. The collision is still under investigation.
