The Legislature and Governor are still working through disagreements about the direction of an Alaskan LNG gasline.
Borough Mayor Mike Navarre said despite the controversy, he’s cautiously optimistic that there will be an LNG facility in Nikiski at some point…
KPB Navarre: “It’s moving forward I think right now. It’s just that we have a new Governor and a new Administration who are just trying to get a feel for where the status of the negotiations are and they’ve got to work their way through that, but I think progress is being made.”
Navarre went on to say that the Project has fieldwork planned for the summer, both on the Nikiski site and the proposed dock location to ensure the shore and bluff are suitable.
