Late Rally Comes Up Short For Oilers In 6-4 Loss

Four hits and three runs in the bottom of the ninth inning for the Peninsula Oilers proved not enough as the Oilers fell to the Chugiak-Eagle River Chinooks 6-4 on Wednesday in Alaska Baseball League action.

The Oilers trailed 6-1 into their final at-bats and rallied for three runs and brought the winning run to the bat.  The Oilers had scored the game’s first run in the first inning; The Chinooks tied the game in the second, scored four runs in the fourth and added  solo run in the fifth.

 

The Oilers and Chinooks close their series on Thursday night at Coral Seymour Memorial Park with the game set for a 7:00 p.m. start time.
