For Soldotna, Paul Whitney and Keith Baxter are seeking the seat left vacant when Nancy Eoff decided not to run for reelection. Eoff said she plans to travel and pursue other projects, and it “wouldn’t be fair” to take extensive time away as a City representative.
Whitney has previously served on the Fairbanks City Council from 1983 to 1987, and has served on the Soldotna Planning & Zoning commission since 2011.
Baxter is a first-time candidate and employee of the Kenai Peninsula Tourism Marketing Council.
Wayne Ogle is a retired U.S. Coast Guard captain and a former regulatory permit manager for an offshore engineering firm based out of Houston. He has previously served as the public works director in Bethel and Kenai and is now retired.
Chamberlain owns and operates Charlie’s Pizza in Nikiski and has been heavily involved in protests about Nikiski water contamination.
