KPBSD Looking for Public Input on Soldotna School Plan

Posted: May 13, 2013 at 12:11 pm

The Kenai Peninsula Borough School District is looking for input from the public in the ongoing discussions of re-configuring the Soldotna area schools. Dr. Steve Awtater, superintendent of the district explains…

Dr. Atwater: “There’s a survey for Soldotna schools reconfiguration, this is for parents and community members. As you probably know, we’re going to put all the 10th – 12th grade students over as Soldotna High School, it may not be called that, but that’s where they’ll be starting next year. The next step is what to do with the 7th -9th grade students. There’s a survey online to give you input on that, we’re looking at putting the 9th grade students at the current Soldotna Middle School, 7th and 8th graders being at Skyview, so if you’re interested in that, we’d really appreciate your feedback on that.”

Skyveiw is closing down. The students can go to SoHi or Kenai High. It’s ridiculous to spend the money to change the name of the school. Government waste yet again! I bet KCHS gets its share of students from Skyveiw- are they changing their name also?
