The junior class at Kenai Central High School was scattered all over the area, yesterday morning, as part of the annual Job Shadow Day. The intent of the Kenai Chamber-sponsored event is to give the students the opportunity to experience the different career opportunities that are possible for them. The Kenai Chamber of Commerce puts together Job Shadow Day each year. Students are paired with businesses in the area. They spend the entire morning at the businesses, learning the responsibilities that come with jobs. Then, the morning ends at the free lunch in Kenai, where the entire class hears from previous KCHS graduates, who now are employed in the community. KCHS Principal Allen Fields spoke to us after yesterday’s dinner. He continues to call Job Shadow Day an inspiring day.
