Kenai, Soldotna Prepare for Summer Festivities

July 4th is right around the corner. Michelle Glaves, Executive Director of the Soldotna Chamber of Commerce, outlined some of the local activities…

Glaves: “Dont’ forget, of course, Fourth of July in Kenai with great parade, parade starts at 11, and then they have the vendor booths and the kids carnival and all kinds of great things over there on the green strip, so we’ll all be going over there for that.”

A little later in the month, Glaves said Soldotna will be having their own festival…

Glaves: “Mark your calendars: July 27 and 28th is Progress Days, and it is at a new venue, because the park is being all renovated and torn up, so we are at the Gehrke Field at the Soldotna ball fields and rodeo ground there.”

Glaves said Sawfest will also be a part of Progress Days this year, along with the Dutch Oven Cooking Competition.
