SoHi Skates To 3-2 Victory Over Kards

The Soldotna Stars scored the game-winning goal mid-way through the third period of Tuesday’s North Star Conference hockey game against the Kenai Kardinals; downing the Kardinals 3-2.

Kevin Stone scored the winning goal at 7:01 of the third period to break a 2-2 tie.  The Stars built a 2-0 lead with a late first-period goal by Max Hegge and an early second-period goal off the stick of Dalton Pearson.  Down 2-0, the Kards rallied with second-period goals by TJ Wagooner and Zach Mese.

A rare no-penalty game provided for an outstanding conference game.  Both teams are off until January.  SoHi improves to 4-1 in the NSC; KCHS stands at 1-3-1 in conference play.
