Kenai Peninsula Saw Good 2012 Tourist Season

Data coming in shows that the 2012 tourist season saw good results for the Kenai Peninsula Borough. We got a breakdown from Shanon Hamrick, Executive Director of the Kenai Peninsula Tourism Marketing Council..

Hamrick: “We do have some numbers for KPB sales tax in the second and third quarters in 2012, which is really a measuring stick that we use to see how we’ve been increasing or declining for our tourism numbers. It’s a positive trend, we had an increase of over $9.5 million in taxable sales over the same period in 2011.”
