Kenai Driver Arrested After Striking Mailbox

Last Monday a Kenai man was arrested for multiple driving offenses after an observer reported him striking a mailbox on Gaswell Rd.

Just after 5pm, Troopers made contact with 23-year-old Jonathan Jay Scott, who was driving a white 1996 Ford car “erratically.”

The car was located and stopped near mile 103 Sterling Hwy, where Troopers discovered Scott was driving while impaired and under the influence of alcohol. Scott’s South Carolina driver’s license was found to be suspended, he had no liability insurance on the car and he was in violation of court ordered conditions of release for a prior Driving While License Suspended and No Insurance offense.

Scott was arrested for DUI, DWLS, No Insurance and Violation of Conditions of Release.  He was remanded at Wildwood Pretrial and held with no bail pending arraignment.
