City Manager Rick Koch said they have a long list of people to be recognized for the construction of the “phenomenal” new track and field.
Koch: “It is gorgeous. It is a beautiful facility as far as construction projects go. It’s been a very enjoyable project to be involved in. The community has immediately embraced it an taken ownership of the project.”
The ceremony will be followed by the first 2013 home game for the Kenai Kardinals, who will play the Nikiski Bulldogs.
At half-time the first track competition will be held, in the form of an invitational mile race.
