Kenai Accepts $1.8 Million Grant from State for Water Transmission Upgrades

The Kenai City council, last night, unanimously accepted a grant from the State of Alaska for $1.8 million for water transmission main projects. We got further details from Kenai City Manager Rick Koch..

Koch: “That’s a municipal matching grant, though the Department of Environmental Conservation that would provide for the construction of a water transmission main down Beaver Loop, beginning at Togiak and then going south almost to Angler, or to Angler whatever the funding would support. That project would be accomplished in conjunction with the Beaver Loop Roadway reconstruction project that the Department of Transportation will undertake probably in two-years.”

The cities match for this grant is $805,200.
