KCHS Turf to Be Ready for Next Season

Ground has been broken, and work is under way at Kenai Central High School for the construction and installation of an artificial turf field. We spoke to Kenai City Manager Rick Koch about the time frame of this project

Koch: “We’re on schedule for the turf installing contractor to show up around June 10th, then the track surfacing contractor to show up around the same time in July. Hopefully, if there are not any delays in the contract, the Kenai Central High School Kardnals will be playing their first football game on August 10th, on the new artificial turf field.”

Parts of the funding for this project came from a grant from the U.S. Soccer Association: City of Kenai to Receive Grant for Turf Field
