After yesterday’s accident in Kasilof, in which multiple people were taken to CPH, Troopers have released the following details…
On June 22, at approximately 3:50pm, Alaska State Troopers and Central Emergency Services responded to a motor vehicle collision at approximaltey mile 115 Sterling Highway.
Investigation revealed Tina Abbott, 42, of Colorado, fell asleep behind the wheel and drifted over the center line of the highway. Abbott’s vehicle struck a motor home and another car traveling the opposite direction before coming to rest in the highway.
Abbott’s vehicle caught fire while she and her husband were extricated by passing motorists.
In total, five people were transported to Central Peninsula Hospital to include Abbott. All persons were treated for minor injuries and released.
Abbott was cited during the investigation. Seat belts were worn by passengers in all vehicles involved.
