Members of the House Special Committee on Energy are scheduled to hear from officials involved with some current energy projects throughout the Railbelt. On Thursday, this special committee will host officials from Ormat, CIRI the Alaska Energy Authority, TDX Power and the new In-State Gasline Coordinator Bob Swenson. Ormat is expected to testify on the Mt. Spurr Geothermal Facility. CIRI is expected to testify on the Coal Gasification Project and the Fire Island Wind Farm. The Alaska Energy Authority is scheduled to testify on the Susitna Hydro-Electric Project. TDX Power is expected to testify about the Chakachamna Hydro-Electric Project. Committee Co-Chairs Representative Bryce Edgmon of Dillingham and Representative Charisse Millett of Anchorage say they have prepared seven questions for each group to answer. The questions range from permitting and state financial support to how much proposed operations would ultimately cost homeowners and businesses.
