Holiday Travelers Urged to Be Mindful of TSA Screenings

Today is traditionally the busiest day at airports across the country, and the story is the same at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport. We spoke to Margaret Tyler, with the state DOT, who had some tips to make your travel a little easier.

Tyler: “There’s some wonderful tips on the TSA website on how to do that, including an area where you can fill in whatever you’re not sure, you can type it in like peanut butter or whatever, and it will tell you whether or not you can take it though the security screening area. But the most important tip, I think,  that they provide is to keep your items organized and if you do have a lot of things in your pockets, before you get into the screening area, stick them into your bag some place. That way, you don’t have to grab your spare change on the other end, and you know, have six-bins going.”
