Holiday Mail for Heroes Being Taken in Alaska

To comfort servicemen and women away from home this year, the American Red Cross of Alaska is taking Holiday Mail for Heroes.

Laura Spano said they’ll take holiday mail until Christmas Eve…

Spano: “Everybody is so grateful to receive any sort of letter that come from any civilian. Different units have different responses. A lot of times in the hospitals they have a really hard holiday season, or people that are wounded warriors that are still stationed up here, but their families may not be up here. It really lifts their spirits and helps get them through such a rough time.”

Spano said mail can be addressed to a specific unit, but not a specific person and should be general in nature.
