High temperatures are expected to continue, fire officials are continuing to ask residents to adhere to open burn suspension.
CES Fire Marshall Gary Hale has more.
Hale: “Right now with the fire season being at high and going to extreme, we do have an open burn suspension going on and its proceeded as long as we have the high heat and we have the light winds which are drying out our ground fuels at a rapid rate right now. Talking with the Forestry this means that all burn barrels and open burning has been suspended, so recreational fires are the only allowed fires that are allowed right now. If the winds and the weather continues the Forestry may put a burn ban on which we’ve seen in past seasons only because of the type of weathers we have, as of right now camp fires are allowed but burn barrels and open burning has been suspended.”
