Healthcare Delayed for Up To 6 Weeks

Posted: October 24, 2013 at 12:17 pm

There’s a possible delay coming for the deadline to sign up for Obamacare. U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski has previously expressed frustration that businesses were given an extra year, but individuals were not…

Sen. Murkowski(R-AK): “But again, if it’s an ill conceived plan, it doesn’t make sense to move it through at any point.”

Today we spoke to Matthew Felling in Sen. Murkowski’s office, who said Murkowski would rather see the deadline for individuals extended for another year, rather than the 1-6 weeks proposed…

Felling: “And I think that most Americans who have watched this unrolling of healthcare.gov, in all of its fits and starts, think that that’s the least that could be done, given the fact that this system has not worked when it was immediately launched, and it would be improper and wrong to penalize people for not applying and not enrolling when they possibly had been trying for weeks and the system was not there to support them.”

Senator Murkowski is currently in Anchorage. Senate resumes Monday.
