Beginning on July 1st, Homer Electric Association members should see a decrease in their monthly bill.

HEA has filed with the Regulatory Commission of Alaska to lower the blended rate for HEA member’s from17.756 cents per kilowatt-hour to 16.362 cents a kilowatt-hour. HEA says that the average residential customer will see savings of roughly $8.78 on their eclectic bill.

HEA says that the change is based on the quarterly adjustment to the Cost of Power adjustment, which is based on the cost of fuel used to generate electricity by HEA from Chugach Electric. This figure is adjusted on a quarterly basis.
