HEA Says Power Restored

A downed power line left 3,800 without power yesterday evening in Sterling and Funny River. Homer Electric Association says most residents had power by midnight, but there were some living along Funny River Road and the Scout Lake area who weren’t reconnected until 6:05am this morning.

The original  outage began around 9:30pm when a power line near the Soldotna substation separated and fell to the ground. Crews repaired the line, which restored most power, this morning they also located and repaired a failed cut-out on a power pole near the end of Scout Lake Road.

If you are still without power, please call the HEA Outage Hotline at 1-888-8OUTAGE.
