HEA Planning Scheduled Outage For Southern Peninsula

Homer Electric Association will be having a scheduled power outage tonight affecting the southern peninsula.

We spoke to Joe Gallagher with HEA for more details.

Gallagher: “Homer Electric Association has a planned outage for midnight tonight until 2′ o clock in the morning. The outage is going to effect the Homer Spit as well as Halibut Cove, the outage is necessary in order to complete the instillation of the new power lines that are serving the Homer Spit. Again it will effect the Homer Spit and Halibut Cove, anyone being effected by that outage is being notified via an automated call and we’ve also contacted many of the businesses personally to inform them the outage is taking place.”

Seldovia, Port Graham, and Nanwalek will have power via the Gerry Willard Generation Plant in Seldovia.
