Governor Continues Push for SB21

Governor Sean Parnell is continuing to advocate for SB21, or the “More Alaska Production Act.”


The new oil tax was passed during the last Legislative session, but is now under threat as a voter initiative looks likely to put the bill before voters in August 2014.


The Governor has been speaking with oil companies about their response to the tax change. Here’s Doug Smith, CEO of Little Red Services…


Smith: “So we’re 150 employees. We’ve grown since the passage of the recent SB21 being passed and signing into law. We’ve seen increased activity from our customers, that’s generated 8 to 9 new jobs that we’re filling and have filled some already.”
