In some areas of the Kenai Peninsula, the price of gasoline has now exceeded $3.60 a gallon. AAA of Alaska reports that the average price for gasoline in the Kenai and Soldotna area has now surpassed $3.60 for one gallon. That is five cents higher than last week, and over a dollar higher than one year ago, when the price was $2.57. At the new average, it now costs over $54 to fill a 15-gallon tank in the Kenai and Soldotna area. While the price of gasoline went up this week, on the Kenai Peninsula, the price of gasoline in Juneau went down to $3.02 a gallon. Juneua continues to have the cheapest gasoline prices in the state. Meanwhile, the price of gasoline in Anchorage rose five cents, this week. It now sits at $3.23 a gallon. Gas prices in Fairbanks also rose by a nickel, this week, to $3.35 a gallon. The cheapest gasoline on the Kenai Peninsula can be found in Homer, where the average is $3.54 a gallon.
