Fraud has many ways of spreading through Alaska; recently, the City of Seward has seen several cases of counterfeit money, and a text message was circulating the state, telling customers their debit cards had been cancelled and asking them to call a number with their details.
To help prevent these types of schemes gaining ground, Peninsula Crime Stoppers and First National Bank of Alaska are providing a free fraud prevention training workshop.
The workshop will be held from 1-2:30pm on May 8th at the Kenai River Center on Funny River Road, across from the Soldotna Airport. Presenter Don Krohn will be speaking about security threats, IT best practices and credit/debit card safety.
Interested businesspeople should contact 260-6022 this week to inquire about seats.
