Forestry Fights Two Human Caused Fires

The Division of Forestry said firefighters on the Kenai Peninsula were called to two separate human-caused fires on Wednesday.  One was near the Nikiski Fire Department, according to Forestry Spokesman Bud Sexton.

He said the second human-caused fire was located on the Kenai River.  He said it was an unattended campfire.  Both of these fires were small.

Even though there is a burn suspension in place, campfires within approved enclosures are still being allowed.  He said to be cautious of winds, though.
