Five Injured in Sterling Highway Accident Near Echo Lake Road

More is now known into the large accident last night that occurred just after 6:05pm near Echo Lake Road and the Sterling Highway, near 100 of the highway that had the highway closed for a short period to time.

Megan Peters with the Alaska State Troopers told us that there were two-vehicles involved in this accident with multiple injuries. In what appears to be a head on accident.

Peters told us that this accident involved a Ford F250 supercab pickup truck and a 2006 Subaru Legacy.

The Ford pickup truck had two occupants, one adult male and one adult female, and the Subaru was driven by an adult female and had two-young children on board.

An off duty EMT with Central Emergency Services responded to the scene and provided treatment to all five occupants, who were later transported to Central Peninsula Hospital in Soldotna for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Troopers launched the Life med helicopter, however, it was not used.

The names of all parties involved have yet to be released by the Alaska State Troopers.
