The Kenai Peninsula College is taking registration now for the upcoming semesters. KPC Director Gary Turner said that current and perspective students can sign up for the summer and fall semesters , online or at the local campus. During our conversation, Turner also commented on some encouraging enrollment statistics for the local collage

Turner: “We continue to grow, this year we plateaued, I’ve been predicting that for a couple of years, and this year we have. That’s a good thing, it was on purpose, we’ve reached the point where we’re pretty much out of space and out of facility and staff. So we’re doing well, over the past five-years, we’ve increased the in the number of students by 50%, and the number of credits those students are taking has increased 47%. We’ve had a great run, and we’re in a place where we’re comfortable.”

The college will also be hosting a grand opening for the new student housing, and career and technical center at the Kenai River Campus in Soldotna on August 15th.
