Carl High, with the Soldotna office of the DOT, said there are concerns about erosion at Mile 168, where the highway nears Homer.

Currently, there are no set plans in place to relocate the Sterling Highway where bluff erosion is becoming a concern. The DOT says each problem area is monitored on a weekly basis.
Relocate the Hwy as water powered nature is too powerful for the bluff and other areas of the Kenai Peninsula. All the bluff restoration in Kenai is a waste of time and money because water powered nature is able to destroy that work in minutes.
