The driver in last week’s accident involving a school bus has been identified.

The Alaska State Troopers report that last Friday, at approximately 3:40pm, Troopers responded to a report of a traffic crash at the intersection of Lake Road and Funny River Road.

Subsequent investigation revealed 48-year-old Lillian Scroggs of Soldotna slid through the stop sign at Lake and Funny River into the path of a school bus.

Scroggs was transported from the scene for possible injuries.

As we’d reported last week, the driver and students on the school bus were uninjured.

We all know the roads are icy and slick…why is it that every year there are people sliding through stop signs and street lights?? I have a small child who rides the bus to school everyday and it worries me that there are morons out there that cannot seem to drive with caution. The bus is huge and bright yellow…should have hit the ditch if you cannot stop!!! Don’t risk the precious lives of others because you don’t know how to drive. If you cannot get it together to know how to drive in the winter time…stay off the roads!!!!!!!!!!!
