Cost of Natural Gas Rising

The cost of your natural gas is going up again.

Enstar Natural Gas Company has filed a revision to the Gas Cost Adjustment or GCA with the Commission for the third quarter of this year. The GCA is the price that Enstar pays Cook Inlet producers for gas and is passed on to customers without a markup.

Enstar is increasing the GCA by over 32 cents per Ccf. That will make the cost of natural gas well over 76 cents per Ccf and the new rate will appear on your first billing in July.

The proposed increase is based on contracts with Cook Inlet producers that have already been approved by the Regulatory Commission of Alaska.

Remember how Enstar sells their service as being cheap ?

When they sell you their story they don’t tell you they are planning on raising your price.

When they cajole you into signing contracts for utility development, you are paying for their piping, you’re paying their operating cost.

Good deal, right? That’s what Enstar tells you.

    Good luck with that.
