Cooper Landing Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest for ATV Theft

Thursday March 14th, at approximately 7:00pm, the Alaska State Troopers received a R.E.D.D.I. (Report Every Dangerous Driver Immediately) report about a vehicle that was passing unsafely near mile 52 of the Sterling Highway in Cooper Landing.

Troopers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop near mile 47 of the Sterling Highway.

Subsequent investigation revealed that an occupant of the vehicle, identified as 33-year-old James Redmon, was in possession of a four wheeler which had been stolen from a residence in Soldotna on Wednesday of last week.

Mr. Redmon was arrested for vehicle theft and criminal trespass.  He was remanded at the Seward Jail with no bond.
