Cook Inlet Energy has informed the Division of Oil and Gas that it plans to construct up to three natural gas wells, this winter. The Division says the lease plan application proposes at least three natural gas exploration wells on the West Foreland Peninsula, near the Trading Bay Production Facility.
The work includes the construction of up to three temporary drill site pads made of compacted ice and snow, and about one linear mile of compacted snow roads on state surface lands to support the project.
The timeframe for the exploration drilling would be from December 15th to March 31st. Division of Oil and Gas says, if the project is successful, Cook Inlet Energy may apply for development-phase approvals necessary to bring commercial discoveries into production.
