The City of Soldotna is looking at the variables involved in the Binkley St. improvement plans and have invited the public to City Hall tonight to hear opinions and feedback on the project.

One of those hottest topics in this discussion has been the possibility of implementing three roundabouts in Soldotna which has been met with mixed feelings from Soldotna residents.

We spoke with Soldotna City Engineer Kyle Kornelis who said they are eager to hear what people have to say.

Kornelis: “We look forward to having property owners, business owners, lessees, just the traveling public, really everybody that’s interested in the Binkley project so that we can get their input and their ideas on what kinds of impacts we could foresee to different users of the street to make sure we get it right the first time.”

He explained some of the things the city wants to discuss during tonight’s meeting.

Kornelis: “We’ll go over a lot of the different aspects of the project, the asphalt improvements, its going to have larger sidewalks, separated sidewalks in some areas, potential landscaping improvements, gateway features and of course roundabouts which will certainly be a big issue.”

That meeting will be at Soldotna City Hall tonight from 5:00 – 6:00 pm
