City of Kenai Flushing Hydrants

If you live in the City of Kenai, you may notice a change in your water over the next 5 weeks. Public Works Director Sean Wedemeyer said they’re flushing the hydrants to comply with state and federal regulations, but the change should be minor…


Wedemeyer: “The only thing that they would see in their water is an increase in color, which is caused by tannins, which is organic and natural and non-hazardous.”


Wedemeyer advised…


Wedemeyer: “They are free to open their tap and run their water until the water runs clear. If it takes more than 30 minutes  I would encourage them to call me.”
