CIRA Passes House

The Cook Inlet Recovery Act or House Bill 280 unanimously passed the state house yesterday. House Finance Committee Co-Chair Mike Hawker, of Anchorage, and House Speaker Mike Chenault, of Nikiski, sponsored the bill. In a press release yesterday hawker said one of the biggest challenges the people he represents face is the decline of gas production in cook inlet.

Hawker also said. “The Cook Inlet Recovery Act also enhances existing tax credits for exploring for new gas in the Cook Inlet.”
