Just as it is the season for giving, it’s also the season for taking, too. The Christmas season is considered to be a great time for thieves to make somebody else’s gifts under the tree their own, according to Kenai Police Sergeant Scott McBride.

He said the police offer some tips for residents during the holiday season, when they are gone.

McBride also encourages residents to take advantage of programs by the Kenai and Soldotna Police Departments. Police increase patrols to homes that may be vacant.
