House Speaker Mike Chenault of Nikiski has introduced his in-state gas bill. House Bill 369 calls for unification of state agencies and proposals for the development of In-State natural gas.

The bill calls for a Joint In-State Gasline Development Team within the Office of the Governor to ensure that construction of an in-state gasline is ready to begin by July 2011, with gas flowing by 2015. House Speaker Chenault, while in Soldotna on Saturday, spoke to us about the proposed bill. He says it is a new way to look at promoting in-state gas.

House Bill 369 has been referred to the House Resources and Finance Committees. The first hearing is scheduled for Friday afternoon at 1 p.m. in the House Resources Committee.
