Chenault Expects Vetos from Governor

Now that the State Legislature has completed its work, many in the state continue to wonder what Governor Sean Parnell will do to this year’s capital budget.  He asked the State Legislature to show fiscal restraint and put money away in savings.   However, the capital budget grew to $3.1 billion by the end of the State Legislature.  Over $2 billion was placed in the budget by the Senate.  Last week, we spoke to House Speaker Mike Chenault about the potential for line-item vetoes by the governor.  Chenault expects that to happen to some of the projects placed in the budget.
