The State House is inviting the firearms industry to set up shop in the 49th state.
As we reported, the State House yesterday passed a resolution to encourage gun manufactures in the “lower 48” to relocate.
State House Speaker, Mike Chenault of Nikiski, the sponsor of HJR 12 says that the message is, “Come to Alaska, where we won’t punish you or mandate how or to whom you can make and sell your products”
Chenault also wrote a personal letter to an ammunition company in Colorado that reportedly considered moving because of new gun control laws passed by the Colorado legislature.
The resolution passed the house on a margin of 35-1 with Midtown Anchorage Representative Andy Josephson casting the lone no vote.
If passed by the State Senate, the resolution will be forwarded to the 92-firearms companies nationwide.
