Twenty-seven years ago today, the U.S. Challenger Space Shuttle disintegrated just moments into its launch, killing the seven astronauts on board. A sealing ring failed, causing the entire shuttle to break apart.
Today, the Kenai Challenger Learning Center, commemorated the loss of those astronauts…
Larrow: “Some of our homeschool students that participate in our S.T.E.A.M. Ahead program are going to launch seven rockets, each signifying one of the crew members.”
Spring Larrow, with the Kenai Center, said a lot of good has come out of that 1986 tragedy.
