After Friday’s off day for the Oilers, the Mat-Su Miners come to Coral Seymour Park for a battle between the top two teams in the Alaska Baseball League.

The series rubber match is tonight at Coral Seymour Park at 6:30 p.m., with first place on the line before the Oilers turn their attention to a weekend series against the Miners.

The Twins will look to build on Tuesday’s victory when they return home Friday to host West Anchorage Post 1 at noon.

The victory gives the Oilers a 13-8 record and pushes them 1.5 games clear of the field atop the Alaska Baseball League standings.

West Anchorage Post 1 broke open a close game with an eight-run sixth inning Monday night, handing Kenai a 13-4 loss at Kosinski Field.

The Oilers belted a season-high two home runs and erupted for six runs in the third inning Monday night, rolling past the Chugiak-Eagle River Chinooks 11-4.
