North Peninsula Recreation Center is seeking booth vendors for the annual Family Fun in the Midnight Sun event, scheduled for Saturday June 16. NPRSA is accepting applications from local food vendors, school organizations, athletic organizations, local artists, churches, and information/educational groups to reserve booth space at the annual community event in Nikiski. Interested participants are encouraged to contact us early; the deadline is May 31st. The Curiosity “Mega-rover, the centerpiece of NASA’s Mars Science Laboratory (MSL) mission, is the most advanced spacecraft ever sent to explore another planet. Curiosity’s assignment: assess whether the landing area has ever had or still has environmental conditions favorable to microbial life and for preserving clues in the rocks about possible past life. This live broadcast is part of the ongoing preparation for the MSL landing on August 5, 2012.
