Eileen Bechtol, with the Kenai Peninsula Borough, was the guest speaker at Friday’s meeting if the Industry Support Alliance. Bechtol spoke about the ongoing progress of the comprehensive plan for the city of Kenai. She cleared up some common comprehensive plan misconceptions.

The last time Kenai went through the comprehensive plan process was 2003.

In light of the recent fireworks with the Kenai City Council, particularly between Mayor Pat Porter and Vice-Mayor Mike Boyle, one councilmember, Ryan Marquis, feels that the council’s vocal disagreements are more superficial than they appear.

Councilmember Marquis said that lettting small issues between councilmembers take control of the council belittles the city.
