A man was arrested for walking into the Soldotna Tesoro 2 Go gas station holding only a Bible yesterday morning.
Mlynarik: “He wasn’t wearing anything but a hat and boots.”
Soldotna Police Chief Peter Mlynarik said the man identified as 36 year-old Shane Serfling of Slana, Alaska, did not appear to be under the influence of anything.
Mlynarik: “Officer Koenig responded there and talked to the gentleman and then arrested him for indecent exposure and took him to Wildwood Pretrial.”
Serfling testified in court that the incident was not indecent and he found the whole thing ridiculous.
According to charging documents he told officers “GOD” told him to appear that way to bring attention to current situations.
Serfling is being held until an appropriate third party custodian is found.
