Despite studies over the years to explain the philosophy behind the pricing of gasoline in the state, many Alaskans still don’t believe the studies. Carey made his comments during a conversation, last week, on Sound Off about the price of gasoline.
In 2008, the Alaska Department of Law investigated the gas prices in Alaska. They found nothing illegal taking place, such as price fixing or collusion. The Department of Law also stated that gasoline is not regulated by the state, so the state cannot say how much the price should be across the state.
