Carey Reacts to Post Office Issue

Earlier this week, the United States Post Office announced the offices that could close in the state. The only one within the Kenai Peninsula Borough was Tyonek. We asked Borough Mayor Dave Carey if the Borough dodged a bullet by not having more local offices on the nationwide list.

Just like many others in public office, Carey feels the federal government doesn’t understand Alaska.

Carey would not comment on what other post offices on the Kenai Peninsula he feels might still be closed.
